Call for Papers – 70-Jahre-BÖKWE-Fachtagung „engage_connect_transform“
Der Call for Papers BÖKWE‑Tagung 2026 lädt herzlich zur aktiven Beteiligung an der kommenden 70-Jahre-Tagung des Berufsverbands Österreichischer Kunst- und Werkpädagogik (BÖKWE) ein. Die Fachtagung findet vom 13. bis 15. November 2026 an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wien statt und steht unter dem Motto
„engage_connect_transform – Kunst- und Werkpädagogik zwischen Transformation, Verantwortung und Imagination“.
Wir suchen Beiträge, die zukunftsweisende Fragestellungen künstlerisch-pädagogischer Bildung aufgreifen. Thematisch sind Beiträge zu den folgenden Bereichen willkommen:
- ENGAGE – Bildung als gesellschaftliche Praxis (z. B. Demokratie, Nachhaltigkeit, soziale Gerechtigkeit)
- CONNECT – vernetztes und kollaboratives Lernen (z. B. transdisziplinäre Bildungsräume, digitale Lernformen)
- TRANSFORM – Zukünfte gestalten (z. B. innovative Lehr- und Lernmethoden, künstlerische Forschung)
Mögliche Formate umfassen Vorträge, Workshops, Kurzvorträge, Poster und partizipative Formate…

Call for Papers: BÖKWE Conference 2026
The Call for Papers for the BÖKWE Conference 2026 warmly invites contributions to the 70th anniversary conference of the Professional Association of Austrian Art and Design Educators (BÖKWE).
The conference will take place from 13 to 15 November 2026 at the University College of Teacher Education Vienna under the theme:
“engage_connect_transform – Art and Design Education in the Context of Society, Participation, and Transformation.”
We welcome contributions that explore forward-looking perspectives in art and design education. Submissions may address the following thematic areas:
ENGAGE – Education as Social Practice
(e.g. democracy, sustainability, social justice)
CONNECT – Collaborative and Networked Learning
(e.g. transdisciplinary learning environments, digital learning formats)
TRANSFORM – Shaping Futures
(e.g. innovative teaching and learning methods, artistic research)
Language & Schedule Note:
Please note that the main conference language is German. However, we explicitly welcome international contributions: English-language presentations and sessions will be scheduled for Friday morning, 13 November 2026.
Possible formats: Papers, workshops, short papers, posters, and participatory formats.
